Great spot for lunch. The service is incredibly fast, I was in and out under a minute as I got take away. I had the chicken pad Thai with chilli flakes. Soy sauce is on the tables so you have to add before you leave. The food is of decent quality, not the best pad Thai you’ll ever have but it’s good for the price £7.50. The dish does lack in some colour, more veg added would be nice.

For a fast lunch it was reasonably filling and satisfying, but could do better quality wise. The gyozas were good and tasty. However, pad Thai noodles were slightly over cooked and for the price could have done with some beansprouts and spring onions. The staff were ok and doing their job but didn’t feel like they care too much about their customers. Why bother asking if we’re eating in if you’re going to pack the gyoza and noodles the same way, just without a bag?

Terrible. Ordered the Korean fried chicken with rice. Rice is clumpy and mushy. Chicken pieces are soggy in sauce and not crunchy at all. Chicken breading is equally terrible. All for the price of £7.90.

A fusion Asian diner with Malaysian roots, the Momo Canteen offers a selection of curries, pad thais and rice dishes. I ordered the chicken pad thai with chilli flakes (£7.50) and was surprised to be handed the dish before I even had the chance to take out my wallet to pay. That's not to say that the dish wasn't hot, for it was adequately so. However, visually, the pad thai was lacking a bit of colour, noticeably from the leafy spectrum. I was again surprised, when I took my first mouthful, that it tasted very similar to Chee Cheong Fun. Perhaps it had been a long time since I've enjoyed either dish, and so I was taken aback. It wasn't bad, mind you, it just wasn't what I was expecting. That being said, I've definitely had better pad thai elsewhere and so can't speak highly of the taste. But at least the portions were adequate and the price was alright. The staff are courteous, chatty and efficient. The venue is small, a little cramped, but clean and hygienic. Classy old pop songs bring back fond memories and transport me to a different time. A modest venue for a cheap bite if you're nearby. I will be back again to try a different dish, for the pad thai left something to be desired. Should the next dish meet or exceed my expectations, I will amend my review. Edit: I came back to try the satay chicken. The satay peanut sauce was lovely, although the meat portions could have been more generous. The dish comes with a selection of up to two veg or grains. The meal was filing and substantial. Although tasty, it wasn't mind changing. My review stands where it is.

Hardly any chicken. Curry sauce was your standard curry source you'd get from the chippy. Pretty mid for £8. Over rated. Also no MOMO.

The staff there were very kind and friendly. The spicy pawn laksa was decent, but the noodle was not what I expected. Overall, it’s a nice place for lunch.

Very tasty food for lunch! I've had super delicious rice noodle salad, and pork buns. They also have amazing laksa. You can also buy some small snacks here such as Korean yoghurt biscuit sticks, and interesting unusual drinks you might not have tried before. I will definitely be coming back here soon for lunch! Portions are of a fair size, price is reasonable as well for the quality of the food.
